Sustainability in trade fair construction: our commitment to a green future

Sustainability in trade fair construction

Our main focus is realising effective three-dimensional brand communication for our customers and always striving to achieve this in the most sustainable way possible.

We are already laying the foundation for this within our own company. Sustainable trade fair construction requires more than just one-off measures. We therefore adopt a holistic approach by taking a critical look at every step throughout the entire value chain.

On this basis, we develop tailor-made solutions for our customers that not only improve their trade fair appearance, but also reduce their environmental footprint.

... And how does that work?

Sustainability in trade fair construction

Our goal is to merge environmental awareness, innovative design and first-class trade fair construction quality into a harmonious package.

We rely on close collaboration to optimise the useful life of our trade fair stands. We focus on aspects like the period of use, storage arrangements, service and maintenance, as well as take-back and subsequent use.

Together with our customers, partnersand our strong parent company in Neufinsing, we want to actively promote sustainability in trade fair construction and make a real, tangible contribution.

“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”

Carbon footprint

The basis for all individual improvements in climate protection is a company's carbon footprint. It is calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) and forms the starting point for establishing climate protection strategies and for measures to achieve the climate protection goals included in the strategy.

Our goal is a growth-adjusted relative reduction of our 2carbon emissions by 30% within 10 years.

Carbon emissions are actively reduced by optimising our logistical processes and our in-house workshops, which can be directly monitored in terms of environmental protection. We collect rainwater in greywater tanks, which is used to irrigate our green spaces and to clean our fleet. Pollutants, such as oil residues, are filtered out and thus do not enter waste water and groundwater.

We are making a small contribution to general ecological improvement through having set up a 100m² water biotope on the company premises.

Energy industry

Even when planning the construction of the company building back in 2000, close attention was paid to ensuring sustainable use of energy.

  • Workplaces with optimal daylight illumination
  • Centrally controllable lighting of the company building
  • 90% of the required heating energy is supplied by the pellet heating system, operated by self-produced pellets from waste wood (wood chip plant)
  • Solar energy system on the hall roof with an output of approx. 370 kWp (one of the largest non-commercial solar energy systems in the region)

Materials

We actively advise our customers on the use of:

  • Environmentally neutral materials, e.g. water-based paints
  • High-quality materials with a long service life
  • Modular materials, e.g. laminate flooring
  • Materials with secondary uses, e.g. old wall elements become transport crates

In the future, increased use of:

  • Materials produced according to ecological criteria
  • New materials made from renewable raw materials

Waste management

We strive to adhere to and further develop strategies for consistent waste prevention, for example:

  • Production: responsible use of raw materials and their recycling
  • Planning of trade fair stands: Modular ways of thinking make it possible to use individual components more often.
  • Transport: Robust and reusable packaging crates prevent damage to components and reduce the large mountains of waste in the exhibition halls.
  • Wood waste from the carpentry workshop is processed into wood pellets at our wood chip plant.
  • Consistent recycling of all materials generated in trade fair construction

“Those of us who work in trade fair construction can make an important contribution to being mindful of our environment. This must be anchored in people's hearts and minds, because sustainable does not automatically mean more expensive.”
